Hajj-Malik Williams scored three touchdowns, while Caden Chittenden kicked field goals of 20, 34, 34, and 29 yards, leading UNLV to a 33-25 victory over Oregon State on Saturday night.
Williams completed 15 of 27 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown, and he also rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Ricky White III had nine catches for 88 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown that put UNLV ahead 33-17 with 4:53 left in the game.
Gevani McCoy gave Oregon State (4-3) a 10-3 lead with a 1-yard touchdown run after a 12-play, 75-yard drive, about 9 minutes before halftime. He also scored on a 71-yard run, extending the Beavers’ lead to 11 points less than 7 minutes later.
Williams responded with a 2-yard touchdown run with 1:25 remaining in the first half, and Chittenden kicked another 34-yard field goal just as time ran out, bringing the score to 17-16 at halftime.
Williams put UNLV (6-1) ahead for good with a 9-yard touchdown run that made it 23-17 with 4:21 left in the third quarter.
McCoy ended the game completing 21 of 37 passes for 231 yards and also rushed for 81 yards on 16 carries. Anthony Hankerson contributed with 61 yards rushing and one touchdown for Oregon State.
