Bryce Harper hit a home run, doubled, and brought in three runs. Ranger Suárez, who hasn’t lost a game this season, became the first pitcher to win eight games in the majors. With their momentum, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Mets 10-5 on Wednesday night.

Adding to Philadelphia’s score, Cristian Pache contributed two RBIs. This win marked their third consecutive victory against the Mets and their 16th win out of 19 games played, maintaining their position with the best record in baseball at 31-13.

Harper praised the starting pitchers for consistently setting up opportunities for the team.

Despite a late home run from J.D. Martinez for the Mets, the team struggled, losing five out of their last six games and falling 11 games behind the Phillies in the NL East.

Suárez, now 8-0 for the season, showcased his prowess on the mound, allowing only four hits and two unearned runs in five innings while striking out three and walking two.

“I always aim to keep the game close to give us a chance to win,” said Suárez, emphasizing his commitment to the team’s success. Harper, who returned to the lineup after missing Tuesday’s game due to a migraine, demonstrated his resilience by hitting a home run in the first inning off Joey Lucchesi to tie the game at 1-1.
