Kyle Harrison pitched effectively for five innings, helping the San Francisco Giants secure a 7-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night. Brett Wisely contributed with three hits and two RBIs, nearly hitting for the cycle, and also made a crucial defensive play at shortstop.

The Giants, who had lost four of their last five games before this matchup, have found Harrison reliable after losses, as he improved to 4-2 in such starts this season. Manager Bob Melvin praised Harrison’s performance, highlighting his effective use of off-speed pitches alongside a well-placed fastball.

Defensively, Wisely and Heliot Ramos made notable plays that kept the Twins, known for their strong batting this season, scoreless until the fifth inning.

Harrison, reflecting on his first full season in the majors, expressed satisfaction with his workload but aimed to improve his strikeout rate in the second half of the season.

San Francisco took an early lead with Jorge Soler’s leadoff triple, followed by an RBI from LaMonte Wade Jr. Wisely and Mike Yastrzemski contributed RBIs in the second inning, while Soler added another RBI single in the fifth. The Giants extended their lead with Michael Conforto’s two-run double in the seventh inning.

Wisely, who had struggled in recent games with a .171 batting average, approached the game with a focus on enjoying himself and playing freely, which paid off with a standout performance.
