England captain Harry Kane will miss the team’s match against Greece in the Nations League on Thursday due to an injury.

The striker joined the England team on Monday with a noticeable leg injury, having been taken off during the second half of Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt the day before.

In his pre-match news conference on Wednesday, interim England coach Lee Carsley said, “we won’t take a chance” with Kane because he had a “small knock.” John Stones will be the captain in his place, Carsley mentioned.

Carsley later added that Kane might still be on the substitute’s bench but definitely will not be starting. He expressed hope that the striker will be ready for Sunday’s match against Finland.

England has already won against Ireland and Finland in Nations League qualifying.
