Arjan Bhullar is gearing up to reassert his presence in the world title picture, with his journey kicking off at ONE 166: Qatar inside the Lusail Sports Arena on March 1.
Following a challenging 2023 that saw him lose his gold to reigning two-division king Anatoly Malykhin, ‘Singh’ is fueled with determination to start his year on a high note and move past the painful setback.
The former ONE heavyweight MMA world champion, known for his relentless work ethic, wasted no time in getting back to the grind after the unfortunate loss. Now, with his comeback fight against Amir Aliakbari officially confirmed, the 37-year-old athlete is poised to bring forth his best performance yet when he steps back onto the global stage next month.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the American Kickboxing Academy fighter expressed his readiness for the challenge, stating, “Danger is coming. I am that. So, he knows what’s coming. Don’t need to warn him about anything.”
The defeat to ‘Sladkiy’ in Bangkok, Thailand, last year served as added motivation for Bhullar to make a resounding statement in Qatar.
As India’s first-ever MMA world champion, he is committed to furthering the sport’s growth in his home country, and securing victory at ONE 166: Qatar against Aliakbari is paramount to achieving this goal.
