Hendrick Motorsports has plenty to celebrate as they approach their 40th-anniversary bash in a couple of weeks.
William Byron showcased his dominance on Sunday with his second NASCAR victory of the season at the Circuit of the Americas. Meanwhile, Alex Bowman secured his third top-four finish for 2024 at COTA, and Kyle Larson clinched an exciting win at the Xfinity Series on Saturday.
This winning streak sets a celebratory tone for the team’s upcoming festivities during race weekend at Martinsville Speedway. It’s a significant milestone as Hendrick Motorsports clinched its first victory with Geoff Bodine in 1984 under the name All-Star Racing.
Byron’s recent triumph marks his second win of the season, with his first victory at the Daytona 500, where Bowman secured a 1-2 finish for Hendrick Motorsports.
Byron’s win at COTA, his 12th career victory, came from pole position, showcasing his exceptional skill and precision throughout the race.
Hendrick Motorsports Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon commended Byron’s performance, attributing the success to the entire team’s effort.
Looking ahead, the team aims for stellar performances at Richmond and Martinsville, where they plan to debut special red paint schemes and host various celebratory events. Bowman, who clinched victory at Martinsville in 2021, expressed optimism about the team’s recent performance, emphasizing his dedication to achieving success this season.
Additionally, Larson’s unexpected win at the Xfinity Series, despite starting from the back due to technical issues, added to the weekend’s excitement. However, Larson’s 17th-place finish in Sunday’s race affected his standing in the Cup Series standings.
While Joe Gibbs Racing drivers Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs currently lead the championship, all four Hendrick drivers maintain strong positions in the top 11.
