Rhys Hoskins hit a home run as a Milwaukee Brewer in his return to Citizens Bank Park, but David Dahl also hit a homer in his first game for the Philadelphia Phillies, helping Zack Wheeler and the Phillies secure a 3-1 win on Monday night.

In the first game of a three-game series between two top National League teams, Edmundo Sosa and Johan Rojas each hit RBI singles in the second inning for the Phillies.

Wheeler pitched well, going seven innings and giving up only one run on a homer by Hoskins in the seventh. José Alvarado closed the game with a perfect ninth inning for his 10th save of the season.

Hoskins, who used to play for the Phillies, received a warm welcome from the crowd and his former teammates. He hit his homer in the seventh inning.

Dahl, who was called up from the minors to replace an injured player, arrived just before the game. He hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, his first in the majors since 2023.
