A year ago, Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman signed cornerback James Bradberry to a three-year, $38 million contract, with $20 million guaranteed. Unfortunately, Bradberry didn’t perform well in the 2023 season, and he was benched during the playoff loss to the Buccaneers. However, Roseman stated that the Eagles still have faith in Bradberry, who is determined to prove himself again.
“It’s clear to everyone, including JB, that he didn’t meet expectations last year,” Roseman said. “He understands that and is motivated to show that he can play like he did in 2022.”
Roseman remains hopeful that Bradberry will fulfill his entire contract.
“He’s faced challenges before and bounced back,” Roseman added. “When we signed him, we believed he’d be with us for all three years. Despite his struggles last season, he’s working hard to improve.”
Realistically, the Eagles might be stuck with Bradberry this season due to the financial implications of cutting him. However, he’ll need to significantly improve his performance in 2024 to secure his place on the team beyond this year.
