Brock Lesnar, known for his imposing presence in the WWE, has been elusive when it comes to facing Kevin Owens again. Despite their long tenure in the company, Lesnar and Owens have only squared off once in singles competition, and Lesnar reportedly declined to work with Owens on another occasion, reasons undisclosed.
While they crossed paths in the ring during the Fatal Five-Way WWE Title contest on Day 1 2022, Owens expressed skepticism about the possibility of a WrestleMania showdown with Lesnar, citing the latter’s lack of interest in facing him:
“I don’t think Brock Lesnar would be interested in, uh, having a match with me. So I don’t put any time in thinking about that,” Owens remarked in a recent interview with India Today.
Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE screens since his loss to Cody Rhodes at Summer Slam 2023. However, as WrestleMania season draws near, speculation is rife about his imminent return, with a potential comeback slated for as early as the Royal Rumble this Saturday.
At last year’s WrestleMania, Lesnar squared off against Omos, but his opponent for this year’s event remains a mystery. While rumors suggest a clash with Gunther, no official confirmation has been made. Notably, Gunther is also set to participate in the men’s Royal Rumble match, heightening anticipation for a potential showdown between the two.
If Lesnar enters the Royal Rumble fray, eliminating Gunther could serve as the ideal catalyst for igniting a fiery rivalry between the two powerhouse competitors.
