Sean Strickland has weighed in on Brendan Schaub’s recent truck accident, taking to social media to share his thoughts. The former UFC middleweight champion didn’t hold back, mocking Schaub for allegedly panicking after flipping his truck, a reaction Strickland claims he wouldn’t have had in a similar situation.
Drawing from his own experiences as an avid motorcycle rider, Strickland pointed out that he has faced various motorcycle accidents, one of which led to his only lengthy absence from MMA. Given his own experiences, Strickland believes Schaub could have handled the situation better.
“Yall…….. did you see brendan schaub flip his truck?!?! The panic in that man’s eyes lmao!!! I’ve handled motorcycle wrecks going 80 better than you handled a roll in a truck, lmao. Maybe you should come to hang out with me, I’ll help you not be a p*ssy.”
Despite Strickland’s commentary, it’s worth noting that Schaub wore sunglasses throughout the entire clip of his accident, making it impossible to determine any panic in his eyes. Nevertheless, Strickland, who prides himself on being tough, believes Schaub’s reaction was inappropriate.
Unfortunately, vehicular accidents are not uncommon among MMA fighters. Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir notably suffered a motorcycle accident, leading to a significant hiatus from the sport.
Mir’s accident, like Strickland’s, resulted in a lengthy absence from competition, ultimately leading to him being stripped of his title when he couldn’t return in time to unify the belts with the interim champion.
