Dimitar Berbatov has offered his forecast for the upcoming Premier League clash between Manchester United and Aston Villa this weekend. The retired striker envisions a scenario where both teams could end up evenly matched and settle for a draw.
As the Red Devils gear up to visit Villa Park, they find themselves trailing Unai Emery’s squad by eight points and two places in the league standings. Despite this, Manchester United entered the game with a wave of confidence, having gone undefeated in their last five matches, including three consecutive victories.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, have been one of the surprise packages of the season, climbing as high as second place in the league at one point. While they secured an impressive 5-0 win against Sheffield United in their last league outing, they suffered a significant defeat to Chelsea in midweek Cup action.
Berbatov, as reported by Metro UK, has predicted a 2-2 draw, citing the quality of young talent on both sides:
“A draw with goals because both teams have great young players that are hungry for goals and they’re hungry to show how good they are. Based on this, I’d like to see goals, but I cannot call who will win this one.”
Having already overcome Aston Villa earlier in the season with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag’s team appears poised to extend their current winning streak. They seem rejuvenated and ready to face Emery’s side once again.
