Kevin Fiala’s overtime heroics secured a 4-3 victory for the Los Angeles Kings against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. Fiala’s spinning backhand found the net just two minutes into the extra period, clinching the Kings’ third win in four games.

Jacob Moverare celebrated his first career goal, while Quinton Byfield and Pierre-Luc Dubois also found the back of the net. Cam Talbot was solid between the pipes, making 28 saves for the Kings.

The Senators fought hard, with Drake Batherson leveling the score at 3-all with a late goal in the third period. Dominik Kubalik and Brady Tkachuk also contributed goals, with Joonas Korpisalo making 31 saves for Ottawa.

Los Angeles rallied in the third period, with Dubois capitalizing on Anže Kopitar’s setup to knot the score at 2. Moverare then gave the Kings the lead with a redirected shot off Tim Stutzle’s stick.

Batherson’s clutch one-timer from Artem Zub sent the game to overtime with just over four minutes remaining.

Despite their injury woes and recent trades, the Senators put up a strong fight, largely outplaying the Kings through two periods. However, Talbot’s crucial saves kept Los Angeles in contention.

Missing key players due to injuries sustained in the previous game, the Senators faced an uphill battle, ultimately falling short in overtime.
