Eagles No. 3 quarterback Tanner McKee is making the most of his limited chances.
With the Eagles resting most of their starters in the regular-season finale against the New York Giants and backup Kenny Pickett dealing with a rib injury, McKee got the start. He impressed on the opening drive, completing 3 of 3 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.
McKee put the Eagles ahead with 6:51 left in the first quarter. He moved to his left before throwing a 15-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Ainais Smith at the edge of the goal line.
This performance came after a solid showing against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17, where he completed 3 of 4 passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
A sixth-round pick in 2023 from Stanford, McKee has stood out in every opportunity he’s had, mostly during training camp and preseason games.
As his success continues into regular season play, his value is rising.
