Inter Miami CF has made a big move by adding Lionel Messi, but their latest announcement might not be as significant. However, it could still attract fans to buy new merchandise.
According to the Miami Herald, the MLS soccer club from Miami will introduce a new alternate kit this summer, inspired by the Miami Dolphins.
Normally, Inter Miami CF wears pink for home games and black for away games. The new kits will feature aqua with orange accents.
The article doesn’t mention if the Dolphins have agreed to this use of their team colors.
In Houston, there has been recent controversy over the use of Columbia Blue, with the Texans having to be careful about using colors similar to the Titans/Oilers. The University of Houston also defied a cease-and-desist letter from the league over their use of the old Oilers’ color in alternate football uniforms.
Nevertheless, the aqua and orange kits will be available in late June and on sale in July, unless there are legal challenges from Stephen Ross.
