Kawhi Leonard’s availability for the Los Angeles Clippers’ opening playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks is uncertain.
Leonard sat out the last eight games of the regular season due to inflammation in his right knee. During that period, the Clippers won four games and lost four, managing to secure the Pacific Division title for the first time in a decade and claiming the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
Coach Tyronn Lue mentioned on Tuesday that Leonard was participating in only a fraction of the team’s practices. “We’re taking it slow with him,” Lue explained.
When asked if Leonard would be ready for Game 1 on Sunday, Lue responded, “We’ll have to wait and see.”
Leonard hasn’t played since the end of March. Throughout the regular season, he averaged 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, performing well when he was not dealing with injuries.
