Nicolas Jackson celebrated his 50th game for Chelsea by scoring two quick goals, helping his team to a 3-0 victory against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.
Jackson also set up a goal for Cole Palmer at the beginning of the second half, as Chelsea easily beat West Ham, who faced boos from their fans at the end of the match.
This was Chelsea’s third league win of the season, and all three have been away from Stamford Bridge.
New West Ham coach Julen Lopetegui is already under pressure after suffering his third loss in the early part of the Premier League season.
Chelsea took the lead in less than four minutes when Jackson played a one-two with Jadon Sancho, moved forward, cut in from the left, and shot between Alphonse Areola’s legs from a tight angle.
This was Sancho’s second assist in two games since joining from Manchester United, and it marked his first start since May 2023.
Jackson scored his second goal in the 18th minute, connecting with a Moises Caicedo pass and calmly shooting into the bottom left corner.
It was the Senegal forward’s 21st goal in 50 matches for Chelsea.
West Ham seemed to get back into the game midway through the first half, having a penalty appeal turned down and seeing a goal by Mohammed Kudus ruled offside.
However, things got worse for the home team right at the start of the second half when Jackson assisted Palmer, who scored off the inside of the left post.
Later, Manchester United will visit Crystal Palace in one of seven matches, while Liverpool will host Bournemouth.
