Nebraska freshman wide receiver Jacory Barney Jr. was honored as the Big Ten Football Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference.
Barney played a pivotal role in the Huskers’ 44-25 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday.
In the game, he recorded nine catches for 85 yards, bringing his season totals to 49 receptions for 402 yards.
His 49 catches set a new program record for a freshman.
Barney showcased his playmaking ability at an impressive level during the game.
His nine receptions marked a season-high, while his 85 receiving yards also set a new personal best. The Florida native averaged 9.4 yards per catch on the day.
