Jadeveon Clowney recently signed a contract with the Panthers, fulfilling a longtime desire to play for his hometown team in the NFC South.
Growing up near Charlotte in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Clowney watched players like Julius Peppers shine for the Panthers. He mentioned that it’s surreal to be back in the area and admitted that he wanted to be mentally prepared before joining his dream team.
Clowney shared, “Years ago when I hit free agency, I told my agent not to reach out to Carolina because I wanted to mature more. At 31, I feel ready to return home and contribute to the team.”
As a kid, Clowney watched the Panthers on TV and dreamed of playing for them one day. Now, he hopes to help the team succeed on the field, bringing joy to the next generation of fans in the area.
