Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala will miss upcoming matches for both his club and the German national team due to a hip injury.
Bayern announced on Friday that Musiala would be “out for the time being.” He had been selected for Germany’s squad on Thursday, but the team confirmed he will not participate in the Nations League games this month against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands.
Stuttgart winger Jamie Leweling has been called up to replace Musiala and could make his debut for Germany.
Musiala played the whole second half of Bayern’s 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday, marking the first defeat for new coach Vincent Kompany. Bayern is currently at the top of the Bundesliga and is set to play Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
