Earlier this month, Tom Brady changed his mind about retiring from football and mentioned the possibility of returning midseason if a playoff contender needs a quarterback. He specifically named the Patriots and the Raiders.
When asked about the chance of Brady returning to the Patriots, coach Jerod Mayo said, “I love Tom, and if he wants to coach, the door is open. But as for playing, I’m not sure. He loves competition, but I doubt he’ll come back here anytime soon.”
It’s interesting that Brady, who said he was retiring for good, is now considering a comeback. Will teams be interested in him later? What about now?
For the Patriots, who already have five quarterbacks signed and just drafted two more, bringing Brady back would make their quarterback lineup crowded.
