Commanders head coach Dan Quinn mentioned this weekend that it’s likely the team will choose a quarterback in the upcoming draft. However, he also stated they wouldn’t reject trade offers for the No. 2 pick.
Similarly, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo discussed the Patriots’ plans regarding their need for a quarterback. Mayo explained that while the quarterback is a priority, they’re not completely committed to selecting one with their top pick.
Mayo mentioned to Steve Wyche of NFL Media, “It’s the priority right now. But with that being said, you have to be in love with the guy to take him at No. 3. So really all the options are still open for us.”
Even though Jacoby Brissett joined the Patriots recently and Mayo stated he could potentially be their starting quarterback, it’s more likely that the Patriots will still aim to find a long-term solution for the quarterback position.
