Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup’s future with the team remains uncertain, with widespread expectations of an impending cut. However, Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones is keeping mum on the matter.

“We don’t have a decision that we would like to talk about right now,” Jones stated, as reported by Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “It’s one that we will be going over with him. Nothing we would say without him being involved. We need to sit down and go over stuff with him before we talk about what we’re going to do with him.”

Jones’s reference to “going over with him” likely involves discussions about a potential pay cut or outright release. Gallup currently carries a hefty $13.85 million salary cap hit for the 2024 season. Designating him as a post-June 1 cut could free up $9.5 million in cap space for the Cowboys next season.

While Gallup played all 17 games last season, his production fell short, ranking fourth on the team with just 418 receiving yards. Given his performance relative to his salary, it seems unlikely that Gallup will remain in Dallas unless he agrees to a significant pay cut.
