While Daniel Jones remains with the Giants, the team is actively considering their options for a quarterback as the draft approaches. However, General Manager Joe Schoen is cautious about revealing their plans before the No. 6 pick.

“We don’t want to keep picking high in the draft,” Schoen explained to Albert Breer of SI.com. “We have various needs. We’re entering Year 3. People may assume we’re leaning toward a quarterback, but we have other areas to address.

If quarterbacks are chosen in the first four picks, then we’ll focus on the second-best player in another position at six, which is fine. That player will greatly benefit us. Even last year, our quarterback coach attended C.J. Stroud’s workout. We spent significant time with Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson.

“We continue to engage with those players… and not just for now, but also considering future options. We extensively evaluated Brian Burns during the draft process, which gave us confidence in trading for him. We also spent time with Drew Lock and Sam Darnold, particularly during the Josh [Allen] draft.”

Despite their sixth pick, the Giants have been associated with various quarterbacks, including Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. Time will tell if they opt for a new quarterback to succeed Jones in the upcoming weeks.
