Jordan Poole scored 23 points, leading the Washington Wizards to their best winning streak of the season with a 107-105 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. Corey Kispert had a great game with his first career double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing a personal-best 12 rebounds.
Marvin Bagley III contributed 16 points, while Richaun Holmes added 14 points and 15 rebounds. Jared Butler also had a standout performance with a career-high 13 assists, helping the Wizards, who have the NBA’s second-worst record, seek redemption after suffering a 29-point defeat against the Bulls last week.
It had been a while since Washington had won three games in a row, not since their six-game winning streak in January 2023.
DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 27 points, while Coby White added 22, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulls suffered their third consecutive loss, one of their toughest defeats this season.
Chicago, currently ninth in the Eastern Conference, struggled early in the game, falling behind 15-0. Although the Bulls fought back and even took the lead in the third quarter, they couldn’t maintain the momentum. Despite closing the gap to just one point late in the game, they couldn’t overtake the Wizards.
The Wizards were missing key players like Kyle Kuzma, Tyus Jones, and Landry Shamet due to injuries. Meanwhile, the Bulls are patiently awaiting Lonzo Ball’s return from knee surgeries, with hopes that he’ll be back in action by the summer.
