Josh Allen, the Jaguars’ edge rusher, didn’t secure a long-term deal before the 2023 season and instead received a franchise tag last month.
However, his patience was rewarded on Wednesday with the signing of a five-year contract. Speaking at a press conference, Allen expressed that “good things come to those who wait.”
Despite the wait, Allen’s performance, including 17.5 sacks, proved pivotal. He emphasized that his success last year was not solely driven by the pursuit of a new contract but also by personal growth and understanding.
Allen aims for further achievements, including winning a Super Bowl and earning the Defensive Player of the Year award, providing him with continued motivation to excel.
