Aaron Judge hit two home runs, bringing his major league-leading total to 39, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. also hit his first two home runs for the Yankees, who defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 14-4 on Monday night. This win marked New York’s first three-game winning streak since early June.

Judge, Chisholm, and Ben Rice all homered off All-Star Zack Wheeler in the first two innings. Judge added a two-run homer off Yunior Marte, reaching 99 RBIs, the best in the league.

Manager Aaron Boone reflected on Judge’s impressive performance, noting how Judge surpassed his own 96 RBIs in July, despite facing constant pitching challenges.

Anthony Volpe hit his ninth homer, a two-run shot in the eighth inning, and Chisholm hit another home run in the ninth off catcher Garrett Stubbs, leading the Yankees to their first game with six home runs this season.

This victory ended a streak of not winning three games in a row since June 9-12. Boone highlighted the team’s potential, saying, “There’s no question you get a glimpse of what we can be.”

Jazz Chisholm reacts after his solo home run

Giancarlo Stanton, who missed 28 games with a hamstring injury, went 0 for 4 with a walk. Chisholm made his first start at third base in just his second game with the Yankees and hit his second home run of the night using Judge’s bat.

Judge was the first player this season to homer off Wheeler’s sweeper and earned MVP chants from the crowd after his seventh-inning homer extended the Yankees’ lead to 9-3. Judge now has 37 multi-home run games, ranking fourth in Yankees history behind Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Lou Gehrig.

The Phillies, who were once on track for their best record, have struggled recently, losing nine of their last 13 games. Wheeler (10-5) couldn’t stop the slide as the Phillies have lost two of three games in each series since the All-Star break.

Kyle Schwarber expressed frustration with the team’s lack of clutch hits, saying, “Getting ahead in general is hard. It’s not going out there and trying to chase that hit and chase that big moment.”
