Ally McCoist believes Jurgen Klopp will not leave Liverpool to take over as manager of Germany.
According to talkSPORT (12/09/23 at 6:30 a.m.), if Jurgen Klopp decides to leave Liverpool, he will ‘open himself to criticism’ due to what happened with Mohamed Salah in the summer.
Egypt’s star was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia’s ever-expanding league, and despite Liverpool’s apparent rejection of a £150 million bid, he stayed put.
Klopp talked a lot about not worrying when Salah thought about leaving. As you’d guess, the Liverpool boss played a big part in convincing one of his best players to stay, even though he was offered a lot of money to leave.
It is understandable if your country comes knocking with an offer to become a coach, especially since you’ll be hosting Euro 2024 next summer.
While Klopp is Germany’s dream signing after booting out Hansi Flick, former striker McCoist says it won’t happen.
Jurgen Klopp Will Not Become the Manager of the German National Team
“I do not think so. “I absolutely do not,” McCoist stated. “I believe he has unfinished business in Liverpool.” I believe he is in the process of rebuilding.
“I believe he is content there.” There’s a lot of content there. I believe he will open himself up to criticism if someone like Salah stays and he leaves. “I believe he is content.”
Jurgen Klopp Has the Potential to Guide Liverpool to More Trophies
This has been a summer of rebuilding for Liverpool, and you’d think that more changes will be made in the coming transfer windows.
But after beating out the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, and Fabinho.
Klopp’s first task is to get the club back into the Champions League, hoping to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title along the way.
In other news, Nadiem Amiri has been omitted from Bayer Leverkusen’s UEFA Europa League squad after rejecting a £5 million move to Leeds United during the summer transfer window.
After talks between the Germany international and Daniel Farke’s Yorkshire giants fell through, Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso insisted he would hold no grudges.
The Liverpool legend, as reported by BuliNews, said, “Nadiem (Amiri) will stay with us. I’m not mad at him. I get it when players need time to make a decision.”
“We now expect him to go out of his way for us.” He will be in the Bundesliga matchday squad.”
