Karim Benzema reportedly clashed with Al Ittihad manager Marcelo Gallardo after defying orders, amid speculation of his departure from the Saudi Pro League club.
Despite links to European clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea during the January transfer window, Benzema created controversy by going on an unauthorized holiday and returning late.
According to MARCA, tensions escalated when Benzema refused to train separately as instructed by Gallardo during a session, insisting he had already trained individually during his absence.
Gallardo, who succeeded Nuno Espírito Santo, stood firm on discipline, despite Benzema’s reluctance to apologize. Despite a prolific goal record of 12 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions, Benzema has faced criticism for his performances.
