The Colorado Rockies have put Kris Bryant on the 10-day injured list due to a strain in his lower back.
This decision was made before Wednesday night’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Bryant, aged 32, had been absent from the last three games following an incident where he collided with the outfield wall while making a catch in Saturday’s match against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The move is effective from April 14 onwards.
To fill Bryant’s spot, the Rockies have brought up outfielder Sean Bouchard from Triple-A Albuquerque.
With Tuesday’s 5-0 defeat to Philadelphia, the Rockies now stand at a record of 4-14 for the season. Their struggles continue, especially on the road, where they have a 2-10 record.
This comes after a challenging season last year, where they set a club record with 103 losses, and had the worst road record in the league at 22-59.
