Wyatt Langford from Texas and Jackson Chourio from Milwaukee are set to start the season playing in the major leagues. However, for the Baltimore Orioles, their talented young player, Jackson Holliday, won’t be joining them in the big leagues for now.

The Rangers confirmed that Langford will be part of their major league roster, and the Brewers made the same decision for Chourio, while the Orioles moved Holliday to their minor league team.

Langford, who is 22 years old, has been performing well in spring training games, with impressive stats like a .388 batting average and a .446 on-base percentage. He was chosen by the Rangers as the fourth pick in last year’s draft after playing for the University of Florida.

Chourio, who just turned 20, signed a significant contract worth $82 million for eight years during the offseason.

Despite his young age and limited experience above Double-A, he showed promise last season with a .283 batting average, 22 home runs, and 44 stolen bases while playing in Double-A and Triple-A.

Holliday, aged 20, has been demonstrating his skills in spring training games too, hitting two home runs and making six RBIs in 14 at-bats. He was the top pick in the 2022 draft and had a strong performance in the minor leagues last season, batting .323 with a .442 on-base percentage, among other impressive stats.

Baltimore still has time until April 11 to bring up Holliday to the majors, which would make them eligible for a special draft pick at the end of the first round in 2025. This pick is awarded to teams whose highly-rated prospects excel in certain achievements, like winning Rookie of the Year or finishing top three in Cy Young or MVP voting.
