Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer, who hasn’t played the last two games due to personal issues, was put on the non-football illness list on Friday.
This means Mayer will have to miss at least the next four games, starting Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wide receiver Davante Adams, who has been the focus of many trade rumors, will miss his third game in a row because of a hamstring injury.
Other players listed as questionable include receiver Jakobi Meyers (ankle), running back Zamir White (groin), guard Jackson Powers-Johnson (knee), tackle Thayer Munford (knee and ankle), linebacker Tommy Eichenberg (hamstring), and safety Trey Taylor (knee).
Mayer, now in his second year, started the first two games this season and has played in three games, catching four passes for 21 yards.
The Raiders traded up last year to draft Mayer in the second round from Notre Dame. However, they used their 13th pick this year on Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, who has proven to be a great choice. Bowers currently leads NFL tight ends with 28 receptions for 313 yards and caught a 57-yard touchdown pass in Sunday’s 34-18 loss to Denver.
