Lionel Messi won’t be able to play in Inter Miami’s upcoming home game against New York City FC due to a hamstring injury. However, there’s a chance he could make a comeback for the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinal against Monterrey on April 3.
Miami’s coach, Javier Morales, mentioned that Messi is currently undergoing treatment with the team’s physios. They’re focused on getting him ready for the important match next Wednesday.
Messi hasn’t been on the field for Miami since March 13, when he had to leave a match against Nashville due to discomfort in his right hamstring. He also missed playing for Argentina in recent exhibition matches against El Salvador and Costa Rica.
Miami has won all five matches that Messi played in this season. However, they’ve struggled in the games he missed, including a recent 4-0 loss to New York.
