Luis Diaz received praise from his Liverpool teammates Darwin Nunez and Virgil van Dijk following the Reds’ hard-fought 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, March 2.
After Liverpool secured a late winner in the 98th minute, Diaz expressed his joy on Instagram. Both Van Dijk and Nunez commented on his post, with Nunez hailing Diaz as the ‘little fighter’.
Diaz captioned his post: “Fighting til last minute.”
Van Dijk added a comment with a fire emoji, while Wataru Endo also left a message. Despite not scoring or assisting in the game, Diaz displayed exceptional commitment and determination until the final whistle.
Liverpool clinched the victory thanks to Nunez, who headed in a last-minute cross from Alexis Mac Allister.
The triumph widened Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to four points, with the team currently sitting on 63 points after 27 games. City (59) and Arsenal (58) follow closely behind, each with a game in hand.
Diaz has been in superb form lately, contributing three goals and as many assists in the last six matches.
