The Titans have reached an agreement for a new contract with their standout cornerback.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, L’Jarius Sneed is set to sign a four-year deal worth $76.4 million, with $55 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
After using the franchise tag on Sneed, the Chiefs decided to trade him to the Titans last Friday. Sneed, who is 27 years old, recently finished his rookie contract with the Kansas City team. Drafted in the fourth round in 2020, Sneed played in 57 games with 54 starts over the past four seasons.
During this time, he made 40 passes defensed, grabbed 10 interceptions, forced four fumbles, recovered three, and made 6.5 sacks.
He also contributed seven passes defensed, one interception, 2.0 sacks, and a crucial forced fumble in 13 playoff appearances with Kansas City.
Now, Sneed is poised to become one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league as he joins the Tennessee team, which has a new coaching staff.
