Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Luis Enrique has dismissed concerns about the impact of ongoing speculation regarding Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid on his team. Enrique emphasized that his players remain focused and undeterred ahead of their upcoming match against Stade Rennais on February 25.
Addressing reporters in a pre-match press conference, he stated:
“I haven’t noticed any change in my players this week. What matters now, and what lies ahead, is our crucial match tomorrow. It’s a pivotal game for us as we aim to demonstrate our competitiveness against any opponent and in any competition.”
“We’ll be playing at home, supported by our fans because PSG players must always strive for success. There’s no room for complacency. It’s just another match, but for us, every game is significant. That’s my objective as the coach.”
These comments come amidst swirling rumors suggesting Mbappe’s potential departure from the club at the end of the season, with Real Madrid reportedly in pursuit of the French forward. Speculation has intensified given Mbappe’s contractual situation, reminiscent of the failed transfer saga in 2022.
PSG currently leads the Ligue 1 standings comfortably with 53 points, boasting a 10-point advantage over second-placed Brest (43), with a game in hand.
