Luka Dončić’s impressive streak of consecutive triple-doubles has come to an end, shifting attention to concerns over his tender left hamstring. Meanwhile, Daniel Gafford is closing in on Wilt Chamberlain’s record for the most consecutive made baskets in NBA history.

In a game against the Golden State Warriors, Doncic scored 21 points, marking the conclusion of his seven-game triple-double streak. Gafford, on the other hand, extended his streak to 33 consecutive made baskets, contributing significantly to the Dallas Mavericks’ 109-99 victory.

Doncic’s triple-double streak came to a halt when he returned to the game in the fourth quarter, only to exit shortly after due to left hamstring soreness. Coach Jason Kidd expressed uncertainty about Doncic’s availability for the Mavericks’ upcoming game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The absence of Stephen Curry for the Warriors, who missed his third consecutive game due to a sprained right ankle, was evident as the team struggled with shooting, barely reaching 40% for most of the game. Golden State also faced the absence of Draymond Green due to back soreness, further impacting their performance.

Despite a challenging shooting night for both teams, the Mavericks managed to secure the win, overcoming their struggles from the 3-point range. Doncic and Kyrie Irving led the charge, with Irving contributing 23 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds.

The Mavericks seized control of the game with an 11-0 run early in the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 87-72. Despite Doncic’s premature departure, the Mavericks maintained their momentum and widened the gap, ultimately securing the victory.

Andrew Wiggins led the scoring for the Warriors with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent only their second road loss in 11 games.

Looking ahead, Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed optimism about the team’s performance and their prospects for the remainder of the season, despite the recent setbacks.
