Just weeks before the commencement of the first T100 race in Miami, Magnus Ditlev, a top contender in the series, has unveiled the athlete he’s eagerly anticipating to compete against this year.
The Danish sensation, who clinched the third position at the PTO Tour European Open in Ibiza last season, expressed his enthusiasm about being among the athletes signed up for the T100 races in 2024.
Ditlev commended the series for its captivating destinations, intriguing matchups, and the overarching narrative that unfolds throughout the season. He emphasized that if one isn’t thrilled by the prospects of this series, they might be in the wrong sport altogether.
Describing his anticipation for the upcoming races, Ditlev singled out Marten Van Riel as one athlete he’s particularly eager to face.
Despite having competed against numerous world-class athletes in recent years, Ditlev noted that he hasn’t crossed paths with Van Riel yet.
He praised Van Riel’s all-around prowess, highlighting his exceptional swimming, biking, and running abilities, making him a formidable opponent.
Reflecting on his experience of racing against Jan Frodeno in 2023, Ditlev expressed his excitement about competing against two more seasoned veterans of the sport, Javier Gomez and Alistair Brownlee, in the upcoming season.
He described the opportunity to race alongside such legends as truly special, underscoring their enduring influence and the inspiration they continue to provide to athletes across generations.
When asked to pick the race he’s most looking forward to this season, Ditlev admitted it was a tough choice given the caliber of the events.
However, he ultimately selected Miami as his top pick, citing its significance as the inaugural race of the season and the anticipation surrounding it.
He expressed eagerness to return to Miami, reminiscing about his previous experience there and looking forward to the excitement that the first race of the season invariably brings.
