Former “Malcolm in the Middle” actor Frankie Muniz is moving forward with his NASCAR career by taking a full-time position in the Truck Series for 2025.
Muniz will transition from racing part-time to a full schedule in the No. 33 Ford for Reaume Brothers Racing. This season, he made two starts with the team in the Truck Series.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Frankie to our team full-time and to expand our relationship with Ford Performance,” said team owner Josh Reaume in a statement. “Their support has been invaluable, and we believe that with Frankie’s passion and our collective momentum from this year, we can make significant strides in the upcoming season.”
Muniz is set to race in the Truck Series on Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He also competed twice this season in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series, including the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
The 38-year-old Muniz expressed confidence in the team’s potential, stating, “I can’t wait to get started.” In addition to his work in the Truck Series, the actor-turned-race car driver has also participated in the ARCA Series, which is part of NASCAR’s lower levels.
Muniz previously entered 14 races in the Formula BMW USA series in 2006 and moved up to the Champ Car Atlantic Series the following year. He continued racing until 2009 when a crash resulted in injuries that made him step away from the sport.
A longtime racing fan, Muniz drove the pace car for the 2001 Daytona 500, a race that ended tragically when seven-time Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt was killed on the last lap.
