Mohamed Salah scored a penalty in the 84th minute to help Liverpool secure a 2-2 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
Despite dominating the first half and taking the lead with a goal from Luis Diaz, Liverpool found themselves trailing after two impressive goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo. However, Liverpool managed to level the score when Aaron Wan-Bissaka fouled Harvey Elliott in the box, leading to Salah’s successful penalty kick.
Liverpool had many opportunities to extend their lead in the first half, but they only managed to score once despite creating numerous chances.
United capitalized on a defensive mistake from Liverpool early in the second half, with Fernandes scoring from long range. Later, Mainoo scored a superb goal to put United ahead.
Despite Liverpool’s efforts to find an equalizer, they struggled to convert their chances until the late penalty awarded to them after Wan-Bissaka’s foul on Elliott. Salah calmly converted the penalty to secure a draw for Liverpool.
