Manchester United has reportedly compiled a shortlist of four players in preparation for the upcoming summer transfer window.
Despite significant investments in players like Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund during the summer of 2023, United’s on-field performance has fallen short, currently placing them sixth in the Premier League, trailing fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur by six points.
Looking forward, United, under the ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, are eyeing reinforcements, particularly in the center-back position. Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is among the players on their radar.
However, competition for Branthwaite’s signature is expected to be fierce, with interest coming from clubs like Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Real Madrid.
In addition to Branthwaite, United is monitoring Benfica’s Antonio Silva, Jean Clair Todibo from Nice, and Lille’s Leny Yoro. Yoro, in particular, has drawn interest from Real Madrid as well.
Reports suggest that Everton may be open to selling Branthwaite for a significant fee in the summer transfer window. Financial pressures, including the need to raise funds amid financial difficulties and a pending takeover by 777 Partners, have heightened the possibility of Branthwaite’s departure, along with teammate Amadou Onana.
Both players have attracted widespread attention due to their standout performances this season and are expected to command substantial transfer fees.
