No “Fight of the Night” distinction was granted at UFC Vegas 88, but fighters on Saturday’s card were each rewarded with an additional $50,000 for their decisive performances.
Following the ESPN+ event at UFC APEX, the promotion unveiled four recipients of bonuses, with each fighter earning a “Performance of the Night” accolade for their remarkable displays that left no room for judges’ deliberation.
Among the esteemed bonus winners:
Marcin Tybura: Headlining UFC Vegas 88, Tybura swiftly dispatched Tai Tuivasa, overcoming an early setback of a cut to secure a submission victory via rear-naked choke in the opening round. This marked his fourth UFC bonus.
Macy Chiasson: Emerging victorious from The Ultimate Fighter 28, Chiasson showcased her proficiency once again with a second rear-naked choke triumph, this time over Pannie Kianzad, in a bantamweight clash, thereby earning her second UFC bonus.
Jafel Filho: A product of the Contender Series, Filho solidified his place in the UFC with his first winning streak, as he forced Ode Osbourne to tap out via rear-naked choke in their preliminary bout.
Jaqueline Amorim: In the women’s strawweight division, Amorim made a swift statement by swiftly dispatching Cory McKenna, securing a first-round victory via a brutal armbar submission.
