The Mariners’ pitcher Bryan Woo exited Friday’s game in the fifth inning due to tightness in his arm, but it’s expected that he’ll be back for the next game.

This was Woo’s first start of the season, but he had to leave after one hit in the first four innings. The decision to take him out was made after he got Tyler Soderstrom to foul out at the beginning of the fifth inning.

Manager Scott Servais stated that Woo is likely to start the next game. He mentioned that Woo felt a bit tight, so it was best not to push him further.

During the game, catcher Cal Raleigh, along with pitching coach Pete Woodworth and Servais, checked on Woo. Eventually, he was replaced by Trent Thornton.

Servais explained that the long bottom of the fourth inning when Seattle scored five runs, might have contributed to Woo’s tightness. Woo himself mentioned that sitting for a long time made it difficult to get back into the rhythm after the break.
