Memphis forward GG Jackson II had surgery on Wednesday to fix the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, and the Grizzlies announced that Jackson’s condition will be re-evaluated in three months.
The Grizzlies provided an update on Jackson’s injury, which was first reported on August 30. Jackson injured his foot while making a layup during a basketball game in Texas last week.
Jackson, who is 19 years old, was a second-round pick for Memphis in the 2023 NBA draft. In 48 games, including 18 starts, he averaged 14.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Jackson received second-team NBA All-Rookie honors and was one of the few bright spots in a season affected by injuries for the Grizzlies, who ended with a 27-55 record.
