Running back De’Von Achane was ready to play when the Dolphins took on the Buffalo Bills in their AFC-East rivalry game on Thursday night.
Achane had been uncertain to play due to an ankle injury he got in Miami’s first game. However, he was seen running and moving around during pregame warmups a few hours before the game started.
Raheem Mostert, another running back, was out of the game because of a chest injury, which was announced on Wednesday. Earlier on Thursday, the Dolphins promoted receiver Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.
The Bills had already ruled out starting nickel cornerback Taron Johnson, who will be out for an unknown period after injuring his right forearm in their first game against Arizona.
Backup edge rusher Dawuane Smoot was also out with a toe injury, missing his second game. Linebackers Joe Andreessen and Edefuan Ulofoshio were also unavailable.
In response, Buffalo promoted defensive end Kingsley Jonathan from their practice squad.
