Tyreek Hill is the latest wide receiver to secure a big pay raise. The five-time All-Pro and the Miami Dolphins reached a new contract agreement on Saturday, which is worth $90 million with $65 million guaranteed, according to his agent.
This new deal, negotiated by Drew and Jason Rosenhaus, increases Hill’s total guaranteed money over four years to $106.5 million. This is the highest amount of guaranteed money added to a contract without extending its length.
Hill didn’t join the team’s workout on Saturday or talk to reporters but posted “I’m here to stay” on his social media.
The 30-year-old Hill had an impressive season last year, catching 119 passes for a league-high 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has surpassed 1,700 receiving yards in both seasons since joining the Dolphins from the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Friday, Hill was named the best player in a vote by active players for the NFL Network’s annual ranking. He is the first receiver to be chosen as the top player in the 14-year history of the survey.
“It’s such an honor to have all your peers recognize what type of player you are,” said Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel. “There are a lot of great players, so it’s a huge honor but also not a surprise.”
The Dolphins restructured Hill’s contract just a week after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa agreed to a four-year extension worth an average of $53 million per year starting next season.
Other receivers who also signed big contracts this year include Justin Jefferson ($140 million), A.J. Brown ($96 million), Amon-Ra St. Brown ($120 million), and Jaylen Waddle ($84.75 million).
