Bobby Portis apologized to his teammates for getting kicked out of Game 4, which almost led to the Milwaukee Bucks being out of the playoffs. Then he made up for it by helping the Bucks stay in the playoffs.
Portis and Khris Middleton each scored 29 points as the Bucks beat the Indiana Pacers 115-92 in Game 5 of their playoff series. The Pacers still lead the series 3-2, with Game 6 set for Thursday in Indianapolis.
Portis is ready for the challenge, expecting some tough chants from the Pacers’ fans. Milwaukee played without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, who were sidelined due to injuries.
Antetokounmpo has been out since April 9 with a calf strain, while Lillard missed two games due to an Achilles tendon injury. Coach Doc Rivers is hopeful they’ll return soon.
Portis played a big role in the Bucks’ win after being ejected early in Game 4. He had his best playoff game ever, scoring a lot and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Middleton also had a strong game, scoring over 25 points for the third straight game and contributing rebounds and assists.
The Bucks are trying to come back from a 3-1 deficit for the first time in their history, while the Pacers aim to advance past the first round for the first time since 2014.
