Taylor Ward contributed three hits and drove in three runs for the Angels. The team has been performing well lately, winning six of their last eight games after starting the season with two heavy losses. Anthony Rendon also played a significant role with three hits and scoring three runs.
Angels manager Ron Washington praised the team’s resilience, highlighting their ability to bounce back after a tough loss to Boston.
Trout continued his impressive form with a triple in the first inning, followed by a home run in the third. He also had a single in the eighth inning. The Angels finished the game with 14 hits, including multiple hits from four players.
Anderson, the Angels’ pitcher, has started the season strong, pitching 14 consecutive scoreless innings against Florida teams. He pitched well against the Rays, striking out three batters with just one walk.
Anderson received a standing ovation when he left the game in the eighth inning after giving up a leadoff single.
On the Rays’ side, Zach Eflin, the starting pitcher, struggled on his 30th birthday, allowing five runs and nine hits over five innings. The Rays, who are on a road trip, dropped to a 2-2 record.
Trout’s performance was particularly impressive, with his hits opening up the game for the Angels. Rendon and Ward also contributed significantly with hits and runs.
The Angels secured their victory with contributions from various players, including Luis Rengifo and Mickey Moniak. Despite Tampa Bay’s efforts, they couldn’t match the Angels’ performance.
