The Kansas City Royals have placed outfielder Hunter Renfroe on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain and have called up top prospect Tyler Gentry.

Manager Matt Quatraro said the injury is a minor tweak, which led the team to take this precautionary step before Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

This is Renfroe’s second stint on the injured list this season. He is currently batting .237 with 12 home runs and 47 RBIs in 104 games. He had previously missed nine games in June because of a bone bruise in his left foot.

Gentry is listed as the Royals’ No. 15 prospect. The 25-year-old right-handed hitter has played 105 games with Triple-A Omaha, hitting .256 with 13 home runs and 54 RBIs. This will be his first appearance in the major leagues.
