The 31-year-old first reached the majors with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019, finishing the season with a 5-5 record and a 4.38 ERA. After playing in Japan in 2022 and 2023, he returned to Major League Baseball with the Rays in 2024.

Waguespack made the Rays’ opening day roster but spent a significant portion of the season sidelined due to a shoulder injury. He threw 10 innings with a 5.40 ERA.
