After spending 12 years in the NBA, veteran guard Patrick Beverley has decided to leave the league and sign with a team in Israel. This move has left Milwaukee Bucks fans questioning how his contract became groundbreaking.

Beverley recently announced he will join Hapoel Tel Aviv BC in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. The 36-year-old shared the news on his social media platform, the “Pat Bev Pod,” explaining that he received an attractive offer from the Israeli team.

Beverley chose a more lucrative deal instead of considering a minimum NBA veteran contract: a two-year agreement worth $4 million with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

His decision to leave the NBA was motivated by the financial benefits offered by Hapoel Tel Aviv, which also supports his podcast and merchandise sales.

Previously playing for the Bucks, Beverley ended his season with them after a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. His behavior during the playoffs resulted in a four-game suspension for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

This included throwing a basketball at courtside fans during a game against the Indiana Pacers and refusing to speak to an ESPN reporter who hadn’t subscribed to his podcast.
